Remembering former Raven Jacoby Jones

Former Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones died Sunday morning.Jones, who turned 40 on Thursday July 11th, was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round in 2007. He played nine seasons in the NFL as a receiver and kick returner, winning a Super Bowl title in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens.

In a statement from the Raven's organization, they described Jones as a "one-of-a-kind presence that could light up any room or brighten any dark day." Jones' former teammate, Torrey Smith, also had a statement on X saying, My brother! I thank God for the memories and your impact on this world. You were 1 of 1 ! Your play on the field and jokes will live on forever! We have Momma Jones a Lil Cobys back for life! This one hurt me man! We are going to miss you! Love you bro! Ray Lewis also expressed his condolences and the achievements Jones made outside of sports: "You always gave back and always a pillar in the community, a Raven for life."

Jones made a splash on the gridiron and the dance floor, showcasing his talents on ABCs Dancing with the Stars for its sixteenth season. In February he was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Beaumont Renegades. A cause of death has not been determined. Jones died in his sleep.
